Rugby union, widly known simply as rugby is a full contact team sport that origin England in the first half of the 19th century. One of the two codes of rugby, it is based on running with the ball in hand. In its most common form a game is played between two teams of 15 players using an oval-shaped ball on a rectangular field called a pitch. The field has H-shaped poalposts at both ends.

Forward passing (throwing the ball ahead to another player) is not allowed. The ball tends to be passed laterally or backwards. The balltends to be moved forward in three ways-by kicking, by a player running with it or within a scrum or maul. Only the player with the ball can be tackled or rucked. When the ball in knocked forward by a player with their arms, a "knock on" is committed and play is restarted with a scrum.

Any player may kick the ball in an attempt to gain ground. When a player anywhere in the playing area kicks the ball into touch ( out of the field ) the game play will restart with a throw-in by the opposite team. Both teams line up one meter apart and compete for the ball to carry on playing.

  1. You must pass the ball backwards in order not to recive a penalty.
  2. You can not tackle above the shoulders otherwise you could get sent off the field
  3. you need to be able to see a gap in the opposing teams defense to try and break through.
  4. strenght and fittness is good thing to have if playing the sport but it is not a must have as you can go in the forward pack.
