Metallica is an American heavy metal band formed by drummer Lars Ulrich and guitarist/vocalist James Hetfield and is based in San Fransisco, California
The band is known for their fast tempos and aggresive music which made them one of the more known thrash metal bands, alongside Anthrax, Megadeth and Slayer. The band has had many many different members such as guitarist Dave Mustaine and bassists Cliff Burton, Ron McGoveny and Jason Newsted who are all former members. Their current lineup consists of James Hetfield, Lars Ulrich, bassist Robert Trujillo and long time lead guitarist Kirk Hammett.
Metallica's second studio album 'Ride the Lightning' had a major impact on pushing Metallica into fame and their third album 'Master of Puppets' is possibly the bands most successful album and is one of the best albums ever.
