Metallica is an American heavy metal band based in San Rafael, California. The band was formed in 1981 in Los Angeles when vocalist/guitarist James Hetfield responded to an advertisement posted by drummer Lars Ulrich in a local newspaper.Kirk Hammett is the lead guitar whilse Cliff Burton was the bass guitar until September 27 1986 when he tragicaly died in a traffic collision.From 1986 to 2001,Jason Newsted was the bass guitar. Since 2003 Robert Trujillo has been the bass guitar player. Metallica are still together as a group.
Coldplay are a British rock band formed in 1996 by lead vocalist and keyboardistChris Martin and lead guitarist Jonny Buckland at University College London. The other members are Guy Berryman and Will Champion. They are still making music to this day. Some of their songs are; Fix You, A Sky Full Of Stars and a recent one, Something Just Like This.
