How would you play?
The game offers multiple methods of play, include PC, Xbox One, and PS4. Virtual Reality also works, but comes exculsive to the PS4 version. Each version is exactly the same, so you won't be missing out on anything, no matter what platform you are on.
However, there is a DLC package that is avaible to purchase. Usually the game takes place only in the far reaches of space. This DLC, known as 'Horizons', lets you land on planets, dock at planetary outposts, and drive around in an SRV! (Surface Reconnaissance Vehicle)
What setups can I use?
As stated earlier on, Elite: Dangerous runs on multiple platforms. Most people that play on PC would use the mouse and keyboard setup, and console players with their controllers. However, you can purchase joysticks that enable you to fly your starship like an actual pilot, and they give you a sense of immersion. This is a serious joystick setup for PC.
