Freddie is one of the original band members of Queen. He was the lead singer, Queens's frontman, and vocalist who doubled up as a piano player. The foundation of the band's unique sound can greatly be attributed to Freddie Mercury, who had a larger-than-life stage persona. His theatrical brilliance captured attention whenever the band took the stage. He died from Aids on the 24th of November 1991. He was later replaced by Adam Lambert.
As an original member of the band, John Richard Deacon played the bass guitar. His first instrument was the accompaniment guitar, but he also played other instruments. While in college, Deacon met Brian May and Roger Taylor, who were looking for a bass player. After Freddie Mercury died in 1991, John only played 3 more times before retiring because he didnt want to play anymore without his freind.
Brian is another founding member of Queen. His speciality in the band was playing the guitar, but he also has PhD from Imperial College, London, in Astrophysics. Brian is a renowned producer, songwriter, and performer credited for various hits performed by Queen, like We Will Rock You and Save Me.
Taylor, a founding member of Queen, is best known as the drummer. His interludes contributed to making each performance memorable. While with Queen, he showcased his songwriting abilities by composing several songs like Radio Ga Ga and Heaven For Everyone.
Before joining Queen, he had a band called Smiles with Brian May. However, he is the first band member to start a solo career when he released the single I Wanna Testify in 1977. After Mercury died, Taylor kept busy and released several chat topping hits like Happiness and Foreign Sand. He is also the producer and director of the Queen Extravaganza band, which has had over 76 shows.
