Early Days

After playing Guitar Hero as a child, Lacy soon wanted to learn to play the guitar. In high school, he met Jameel Bruner via the Internet. He produced his first song on his iPhone, using an iRig plug-in for his guitar.

In 2013, he began composing Ego Death, the Internet's third studio album. Ego Death was nominated for Best Urban Contemporary Album at the 58th Annual Grammy Awards but unfortunately didn't win.

He also began producing songs for Twenty88, Denzel Curry, Isaiah Rashad, J. Cole, GoldLink, and Kendrick Lamar, most notably composing the song "Pride" from Lamar's Grammy-winning album Damn.
